Malbec 2004
Nomade Winery, Mendoza, Argentina
Price: $20.00
Learn more at www.nomadewines.comThis wine was born in a 75-year-old vineyard from La Consulta, Valle de Uco, Mendoza, the cradle of their Malbec where Don José's family has taken care of this "finca" from the beginning. Today Don José continues laboring this beautiful "finca" with a never-ending passion and devotion.
The vineyard's age provides a natural balance and low yields (5,000 kgs per hectarea); situated in a premier location at the foot of the Andes Mountains. Grown at a high altitude, elevation 3,600ft., represents a drastic temperature fluctuation between daytime and night; distinguishing this Malbec from others.
The wine displays a shade of intense reds and wraps the mouth into an aromatic rainbow of red fruit, plums and prunes with flowery notes. It's mature and elegant, yet easy to drink due to its balance and roundness. Born to awake your senses; it's aged for 8-12 months in French and American oak barrels prior to going to market.
Malbec (mahl-bek) Floral: violet; Fruit: plum, blackberry, anise; best consumed when aged (5+yrs).
